Owned since 1994 by Mike and Sue Spring, Domaine du Garinet is a small wine estate in the Cahors area of the beautiful Lot valley, in south-west France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have consistently produced high-quality red and white wines using modern methods to give fine wines that are typical of our area. Everything has been done and supervised by us at the property, from the vine to the bottle, giving the ultimate in traceability and quality control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly Mike died in 2022 and from then on, a neighbour tends the vines and takes the harvest to add to his own. I remain to sell the stock of bottled wine which is maturing nicely in our underground cellar. I still look after our walnut orchard so that I can continue making my bread and walnut cakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can find me at my stall each Sunday at Montcuq market and you will also be welcome to visit Domaine du Garinet. Sue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red Wines (AOC Cahors)<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

There are three different styles for each vintage. All are AOC Cahors made from 100% malbec grapes. They become available only when they begin to show their potential. Currently for sale:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classique <\/strong>– not aged in oak
2011 –7.00\u20ac<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9serve <\/strong>– barrel-aged using once or twice already used in previous years
2012 –9.50\u20ac<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00fbt de Ch\u00eane<\/strong> – aged in largely new barrels for about 14 months
2014 – 11.50\u20ac<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Walnuts<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Walnuts have long been a traditional product of our region. As well as vines at Domaine du Garinet, there is an orchard which produces high-quality walnuts for sale whole, for baking and occasionally for oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
